With over 20 years of executive leadership, Chris Hensley founded Next Stage Development to bridge the gap between complex construction and operational reality. Having navigated two decades of high-stakes corporate development, he recognized that the industry was often missing a vital component: a founder's perspective.

Chris has redefined the traditional construction model, replacing rigid processes with a fluid, turnkey approach that prioritizes the client’s operational readiness. Vice President of Development

NSD's Vice President of Development manages the project lifecycle from initial client interest through the start of construction. Focused on client relationships and pre-construction planning, they oversee technical site assessments, including zoning, entitlements, and utility coordination. They ensure that all architectural and engineering plans align with both brand standards and the client's budget.

By developing project pro-formas and initial budgets, the VP establishes financial oversight to identify and mitigate potential cost overruns early in the process. Serving as the primary liaison between clients, brands, and government agencies, they manage the regulatory approval process to ensure each project is viable and ready for a successful transition to the construction phase.

Director of Project Management

NSD's Director of Project Management oversees the execution phase of each project, ensuring the physical construction aligns with the company’s turnkey standards. Working from the plans established during the development phase, the Director manages daily site operations to ensure the Scope of Work (SOW) is completed on schedule and within budget.

They are responsible for vendor management and site safety, directing the bidding process and ensuring all subcontractors meet strict quality control requirements. By addressing technical challenges and supply chain issues in real-time, the Director maintains project momentum and financial health. The role concludes with a comprehensive operational handover, managing final inspections and punch-list completion to ensure the facility is fully prepared for the operator to begin business.
